Frequently Asked Question: Can theists attend MFA events?
Answer: Yes, theists are welcome to participate in group discussions and other Memphis Freethought Alliance (MFA) events. However, in order to be an official member with voting privileges, you must be a freethinker (atheist, agnostic, naturalist, skeptic, non-theist and so forth). While nearly all MFA members have friends and loved ones who are theists, the Memphis Freethought Alliance was formed to provide a fellowship amongst freethinkers.
The MFA is a freethought group. We foster a friendly environment. However, due to the nature of the topics, we occasionally (but rarely) have heated discussions. If a theist chooses to participate, concepts held by theists will be challenged including the very existence of supernatural entities (god, soul, spirit and so forth). Personal (ad hominid) attacks and irrational discourse are strongly discouraged and not considered valid arguments.
